Position Details

 

What you will do in this role:

 

  • Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication.
  • Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and prepares labels for bottles.
  • Fills orders with correct medications. Prepares unit of use dosage when possible.
  • Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer.
  • Generates required reports, production reports. Performs backup procedures correctly.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • State Certification/Licensure as required by state.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital pharmacy setting. Basic understanding of the role of and use of a computer in the processing of prescription orders with minimum word processing skills.
